We are 100% legal!

KoJack’s Poker Club retained a legal firm to investigate the proposed business model and operations and they deemed it to be legal to conduct business in Texas. Texas’ gambling laws are complex, but the basic guidelines for gambling to be legal in Texas are for:

• the gambling occurs in a private place;
• no person receives any economic benefit other than personal winnings;
• except for the advantage of skill or luck, the risks of losing and the chances of winning are the same for all participants.

KoJack’s Poker Club activities meet all three of these stipulations so the general gambling laws not apply and KoJack’s is therefore deemed completely, 100% legal. In addition, a private membership club has additional legal rights allowing people the right to peaceably assemble. There are approximately ten poker clubs in other cities in Texas following this same format and structure and none have faced any legal repercussions to date.
